The EU refuses to renegotiate Ukraine's export quotas

According to CoinMeta, a spokesperson for the European Commission said on Tuesday that the EU has no intention of renegotiating export quotas with Ukraine. Previously, in the face of the economic pressures caused by Russian attacks, Kiev had requested more trade access opportunities. Ukraine's trade terms have become a sensitive issue within the EU. At the beginning of the 2022 Russia-Ukraine war, the EU granted Kiev duty-free and quota-free access, but this led to a surge in agricultural products, causing dissatisfaction among European farmers. Last year, the EU re-imposed quota restrictions on products such as wheat, sugar, and eggs. Ukraine currently hopes to increase its export quotas for bioethanol. The spokesperson also stated that trade data indicates that the updated quota arrangements from last year are "fair and balanced."
