According to CoinMeta, investor Michael Burry is increasing his bets on the bursting of the artificial intelligence bubble, shifting to put options instead of direct stock short selling. In his latest portfolio update, he stated that new research prompted him to adjust his timeline ahead of schedule, covering short positions in companies related to Nvidia, Palantir, Micron, and AI, and transferring most of the risk exposure to put options. The new positions in Burry are targeted at some of the companies that benefited the most during the AI investment cycle. The put options for Micron expire in June with an exercise price close to $500, while for Nvidia, he turned to contracts for September 2027 with exercise prices in the mid-$100 range. He also increased his exposure to put options of Palantir, focusing on those with exercise prices below $100 for September 2027. The latest adjustments in Burry indicate that his view on the possibility of market pressure has changed; he believes the bubble may burst “earlier than expected.”
