One of these startups mandates that employees use a specific term, such as “steak emoji,” to mark content that is not of human creation. Tech startups like Clay and Figma have begun sharing their respective AI writing policies. Clay’s co-founder Varun Anand shared the company’s AI writing policy on social media, emphasizing that employees must ensure the content represents their own ideas before sharing it. The CEO Dylan Field of Figma also stated that employees using AI must indicate at the top of the documents that “written by AI”. Additionally, an employee from the AI research laboratory Exa mentioned that the company prohibits AI writing, and all external communications must be manually drafted.
