According to CoinMeta, Liu Bin, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Edi, Deputy Minister of the Indonesian Economic Coordinating Ministry, on September 28, 2026. Liu Bin stated that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, significant progress has been made in building a community with a shared future between China and Indonesia in recent years. Both countries represent the global South and emerging economies, share similar development goals, have a wide range of common interests, and possess complementary strengths. China has proposed the establishment of a World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization (WAICO) with the aim of promoting the development of artificial intelligence that is people-oriented and conducive to positive change, helping developing countries to benefit from AI advancements, and preventing the widening of the digital divide. China welcomes Indonesia's participation as one of the first members of the organization and is willing to work together with all founding member states to actively promote the construction of WAICO based on the principles of consultation, joint construction, and shared benefits.
