According to CoinMeta, Google is testing a purchase button on the Gemini platform that allows Indian consumers to shop on Flipkart under Walmart, but Amazon products do not have this option. This test covers categories such as smartphones and accessories, and users will be directed directly to the Flipkart checkout page after clicking to purchase. A Google spokesperson stated that Google “is always testing new features and experiences to help people discover and connect with merchants more easily.” Google plans to conduct a broader promotion before India’s holiday shopping season in October. In 2024, Google acquired a minority stake in Flipkart for $350 million and this year introduced a general business agreement that allows AI to act as an agent in transactions with retailers.
