According to CoinMeta, GoPlus Security posted a statement questioning the degree of decentralization of THORChain, claiming that its TSS treasury and node mechanism allows validators to jointly control cross-chain funds and that they can actively intervene by suspending signatures and through Mimir governance measures. GoPlus pointed out that after the Bybit attack, approximately 499,000 ETH were converted into BTC within 10 days, resulting in a transaction volume of about 5.9 billion US dollars and transaction fees of 5.5 million US dollars. In the recent Bitget incident, as well, about 101.5 BTC were transferred out via THORChain. Therefore, GoPlus advocates that restrictions should be imposed on the addresses of the stolen funds that have been clearly identified.
