To address this, the non-profit organization Genesys Works has been helping disadvantaged high school students obtain job opportunities since 2002. Through skills training, long-term mentoring, and paid internships, it helps students prepare for their careers. Before joining partner companies such as Accenture, JPMorgan, and Mayo Clinic, students must participate in an eight-week summer program that teaches skills such as communication, critical thinking, digital literacy, and workplace etiquette. This program enhances students' confidence and helps them stand out in job hunting. CEO Byron V of Genesys Works states that core vocational skills like critical thinking and logical reasoning are particularly important in today's workplace. The program also teaches students how to use AI technology to help them improve efficiency in their future jobs. Genesys has already helped over 14,000 students and is expected to assist 2,161 teenagers in starting their careers by 2025.
