According to CoinMeta, Hester Peirce announced that she will resign from her position as a commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on October 2nd, and will subsequently join the Regent University Law School in November as an associate professor. Peirce has worked at SEC for nearly nine years, during which time she became a well-known voice in the field of crypto regulation and earned the title of "Crypto Mom." In her resignation letter, she stated that working at SEC was an "honour" in her professional career. At Regent University, she will teach courses related to securities policy, and future securities lawyers will have to deal with issues related to tokenized securities, blockchain transactions, and digital assets.
