Bitcoin $15 billion options expire, 5% Treasury yield tests for a rebound
2026-09-25 21:53:18
According to CoinMeta, after the expiration of options worth approximately $15.6 billion related to Bitcoin, the price remained around $84,000. Meanwhile, the yield on 10-year Treasury bonds approached 5.2%, posing a new macroeconomic challenge for any potential rebound. The Bitcoin options that expired this time were mainly concentrated on September 25th, and the expiration rule set by the Deribit platform was set for 16:00 on Friday (Beijing time), which means that large-scale quarterly positions were closed out. Among the contracts that expired this time, there were about 182,000 BTC open positions, including roughly 106,000 call options and 76,000 put options. The fact that Bitcoin's price has managed to remain above this level indicates that the option events themselves are not sufficient to cause a significant drop in BTC.
