2026-09-25 13:56:02
According to CoinMeta, Bitget CEO Gracy Chen released a 12-hour update on the security incident on platform X, confirming that all cold wallets on the chain were safe and not affected. The assets affected included ETH, XRP (with the largest loss on a single chain), BNB, AVAX, USDT, USDC, etc., involving Ethereum, XRP ledgers, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Optimism, BSC, Base. The foundations of the affected chains have been contacted, and some have confirmed the freezing of the hacker wallet addresses. Based on the behavior patterns of IP and on-chain analysis, the attack method is highly consistent with known patterns of North Korean hacker groups. The incident has been reported to relevant authorities, and cooperation with global investigations is underway. Bitget Wallet operates independently from the exchange infrastructure, and the assets are completely secure. Bitget has over $1 billion in its own assets, and user funds have been covered at a 1:1 ratio; all data can be verified on the chain. Regarding the time to restore withdrawals, the goal is to complete a full recovery as soon as possible. Once confirmed, an announcement will be made immediately; no timeline for unfulfillable withdrawals can be guaranteed.
