Bybit Adjusts the Minimum Selling Price Mechanism for Short-Term Options
2026-09-24 17:05:20
According to CoinMeta, Bybit will adjust the calculation mechanism for the minimum selling price (min_ask) of short-term option contracts in order to improve the stability of quotes and the effectiveness of risk control as the expiration date approaches. This adjustment applies to short-term option contracts with an expiration date of no more than 2 days. After the adjustment, the minimum selling price will be determined by a fixed minimum value, a dynamic risk floor, and a short-term floor, with the highest of these three values being taken as the new minimum selling price. The method for calculating the maximum buying price (max_bid) remains unchanged. The revised calculation for the minimum selling price is as follows: Minimum selling price = max (fixed minimum value, short-term floor, dynamic risk floor). The short-term floor is set at 0.1 * the option strike price. This adjustment will take effect on September 24, 2026, at 09:00 UTC +0, and it will only affect the minimum selling price of short-term option contracts. It will not impact the strike price, index price, delta calculation logic, nor will it affect users' existing positions or the method for calculating margins. Bybit will continue to monitor market conditions and may further optimize the relevant risk control mechanisms if necessary.
