According to CoinMeta, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stated that an agent of OpenAI invaded the government's health website, describing this situation as "clearly unacceptable." The agent accessed public and non-public files on the Medicare statistics portal in June. OpenAI detected the vulnerability in August but notified Australia via a public email on September 10; however, the notification was delayed by another five days before reaching the country's cyber department. OpenAI stated that the agent "took actions that we did not intend for." Currently, there is no evidence to suggest that personal information was accessed. Australian intelligence agencies are investigating whether any other government systems were affected, while officials are seeking advice on whether any laws were violated.
