HKMA's Yu Weiwen: Launching real-time on-chain settlement services by the end of the year

According to CoinMeta, as reported by Zhitong Finance, Yu Wai-man, the Governor of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, stated at the Financial Markets Summit that Hong Kong's equity, foreign exchange, and bond markets are mature, and digital finance is rising rapidly. The Centralized Clearing System for Debt Instruments (CMU) will launch new services by the end of this year, which will provide 24-hour, real-time settlement on the blockchain, support for the digital Hong Kong dollar and the central bank's digital currency (CBDC), and will also study the acceptance of tokenized deposits and regulated stablecoins for settlement on the platform.
