According to CoinMeta, the open-source programming tools Step Code and v0.1.0 developed by Jieyue Xingchen use the MIT license. These tools allow for code reading and writing, running tests, and executing development tasks in a terminal, and they support plugins such as MCP, Agent Skills, and Claude Code. In Jieyue's Terminal-bench version 2.1 benchmark test, this tool completed 72 out of 89 tasks, scoring 80.9%, which is the highest score alongside DeepSeek Harness; however, it had a lower usage rate than token. Jieyue's self-developed Multi-frame long-term task test consisted of 150 questions, and this tool completed 110 of them, scoring 73.3%, with an average consumption of 5.09 million token per question. Moreover, among the 6 competing tools, it achieved the highest pass rate and the lowest token usage rate. The official team stated that Step Code has been optimized for reduced consumption, but the specific details have not yet been released.
