IT News on November 3rd: Technology media AppleInsider published a blog post today (November 3rd) reporting that during the latest financial report conference call, Apple CEO John Ternus John Ternus reiterated that Siri processes over 2.5 billion requests per day, and some advanced AI features will be charged.
IT Note from the home: This is not the first time Apple has announced this data. During the iPhone held in September, at the launch event of the Pro series and its first foldable iPhone Duo, Apple's Vice President of Artificial Intelligence Product Marketing, Lillian Lincong ( Lilian Rincon ), revealed this data for the first time.
Compared to the "1.5 billion voice requests per day" announced by WWDC in 2024, the latest figure is over 1 billion higher. However, Apple has not clarified whether the methodologies for these two statistics are consistent.
Apple is leveraging this vast user base to advance the Siri's AI transformation. The new version of Siri was gradually rolled out starting in September with iOS 27, and it is capable of understanding more complex questions in context and performing actions across applications; it can also retrieve content from information, emails, and photos, helping users avoid having to remember in which specific application or conversation the information is stored.

However, the new experience has not yet been fully launched. Siri AI is still in the testing phase, and eligible users need to join the waiting list; some functions that rely on the server-side AI model have a daily usage limit, and in the future, if users wish to use them more frequently, they will need to pay a certain fee.
