About 20 years after abandoning the touchscreen concept, Apple released a completely redesigned MacBook Pro, which for the first time incorporated a touchscreen, endowing this flagship laptop with a feature that has become an important standard in the personal computer industry.

The new MacBook Pro is available in two sizes: 14 inches and 16 inches, with a thinner body and a significantly reduced weight. This is the first Mac to feature a OLED display screen, which has been used in recent years' iPhone, iPad, and other Apple devices. For the first time, the new model also incorporates the iPhone Control Center that users are familiar with on the Mac.

The new computer has a redesigned user interface optimized for touch operations, and is equipped with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. The starting price for the 14-inch version is $2,899, and for the 16-inch version, it is $3,399.

Apple's Chief Hardware Officer Johny Srouji stated that the new MacBook Pro is "a milestone forward for Mac." The newly appointed CEO John Ternus introduced this product on stage at the press conference.

In the later stages of his career, co-founder Steve Jobs publicly criticized touchscreens, once describing this design as "terrible from an ergonomic perspective." His successor, Tim Cook, stated that combining laptops and tablets was like merging a refrigerator with a toaster. Other Apple executives also mocked this idea in interviews.

However, according to previous reports, about four years ago, Cook and Ternus began to break with past traditions by adding touchscreens to MacBook Pro. Apple hopes to inject new momentum into its Mac business through this move and to increase revenue by adding high-end features and raising prices.
