Sunnyvale, California, October 28th / PRNewswire / -- A global leader in lightweight XR hardware development, XREAL, officially released XREAL AURA today, calling it the world's first wired XR glasses equipped with Android XR, as well as the first wired XR glasses to feature Snapdragon ® Reality Elite Platform. The product was unveiled on Google Android Developer Summit and is designed to bring the full spatial capabilities of Android XR into the form of lightweight optical augmented reality glasses, targeting work, entertainment, gaming, AI assistance, and everyday spatial computing scenarios.
Starting today, customers in the United States, Canada, Japan, and South Korea can place orders for XREAL AURA. The company is offering a limited-time discount: the 12GB+256GB version is available for $1,099, and the 16GB+512GB version is available for $1,299. Delivery of the devices is expected to begin in mid-November.

"This is a decisive moment for XR. We have created AURA for those who wish to access spatial computing capabilities without wanting to be disconnected from the world around them. With transparent lenses, a leading lightweight design, Gemini companionship, and the ability to connect to the Android ecosystem from day one, the vision of XR is more achievable than ever," said Chi Xu, co-founder and CEO of XREAL. "XREAL AURA is finally here, and we are very proud to be able to unlock new ways for people to work, watch, play, and create."
This first pair of wired XR glasses equipped with Android XR was developed in collaboration by XREAL, Google, Qualcomm Technologies, and Inc. It combines XREAL's many years of leading experience in lightweight XR glasses and optical engineering, as well as the capabilities of the Android XR platform, Gemini AI, and the performance driven by Snapdragon.
Unlike fully enclosed headsets, XREAL AURA uses transparent optical lenses that allow users to see digital content naturally within their field of vision while still being able to perceive the surrounding room and people around them. This system adopts a modular computing architecture, with the main processing power and battery placed in a compact computing module, ensuring that the glasses remain lightweight and suitable for long-term wear.
Leveraging the brand-new Snapdragon Reality Elite Platform, XREAL AURA can provide professional-level performance for productivity, immersive entertainment, and the next generation of XR experiences, while keeping the weight of the glasses below 95 grams.
This device is built around a simple concept: your applications, screen, entertainment content, and the AI assistant should all be able to move with you.
From day one, users will be able to use millions of familiar mobile applications and games from Google Play, as well as a wealth of experiences tailored specifically for XR. Android XR brings familiar gestures and voice input to AURA, while Gemini makes the experience more natural and intuitive by understanding what users see and do.
With the help of Wired Mirroring, users can directly connect their computers or handheld game consoles to XREAL AURA through USB-C, instantly turning it into a huge private space window. This means that laptops, handheld gaming devices, or any other devices compatible with USB-C can appear in the user's space workspace alongside native Android XR applications.
Whether it's transforming airplane seats into personal multi-screen work environments, watching movies on large virtual screens, or playing Android and console games in immersive spatial environments, XREAL AURA is designed to make spatial computing practical, portable, and useful.
When XREAL AURA is released, it will also bring along an ever-expanding XR experience library, which contains over 150 experiences specifically crafted for XR, aiming to showcase the capabilities of this new form. As part of the release content, XREAL also highlights a series of new experiences and provides access to users' favorite Google Play applications, including popular streaming services. The applications specifically designed for XR include:
