"Wooden Sister" Cathy Wood (Cathie Wood)'s ARK Invest announced its latest ETF trading records on October 26, continuing to adjust its holdings in the technology and innovation industries. The largest transaction of the day was the sale of 24,796 shares of AMD, netting approximately $12.81 million, continuing the recent trend of reducing holdings. On the buying side, ARK invested about $5.64 million to increase its stake in the stablecoin issuer Circle Internet Group, and also increased its holdings in aviation and defense technology companies. Among them, drone manufacturer AeroVironment received about $7.29 million in capital inflows, while electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft company Archer Aviation saw an increase in holdings of about $4.54 million.
I. Continued reduction of holdings in AMD; cashed out $12.81 million in a single day
According to the transaction records disclosed on October 26th, ARK sold 24,796 shares of AMD stock for a transaction amount of approximately $12.8143 million, which was the largest single transaction amount of the day.
This reduction in holdings continues the recent trend of ARK decreasing its position in AMD. AMD is an important supplier in the AI chip and server processor market, and its stock price has recently fluctuated due to changes in the investment prospects for artificial intelligence infrastructure and the industry's financing environment.
On the same day, ARK also sold 21,894 shares of TSMC, with a transaction amount of approximately $9.1629 million, further adjusting their holdings in the semiconductor sector.
In addition, ARK reduced its holdings in ARK by 21 Shares Bitcoin ETF ( ARKB ), with the disclosed transaction amount being approximately 3.7933 million US dollars. There is a format anomaly in the number of shares sold in the original transaction record, therefore it is not possible to accurately confirm the specific quantity.
II. Increased holdings of Circle by approximately $5.64 million, readjusting the stablecoin business exposure
On the buying side, ARK purchased 65,615 shares of Circle Internet Group through its subsidiary ARKW ETF, with a transaction amount of approximately 5.637 million US dollars.
It is worth noting that on the previous trading day of ARK, which was October 23rd, a portion of Circle shares were just sold. This recent repurchase indicates that the fund is still adjusting its position in this company.
Circle is one of the issuers of the US dollar stablecoin USDC, and its business mainly revolves around the issuance of stablecoins and related digital financial infrastructure. ARK's recent increase in holdings has expanded its investment exposure to the stablecoin and digital finance sectors, but a single-day transaction alone is not sufficient to determine whether there has been a change in its long-term investment strategy.
III. Increase positions in aviation and defense technology stocks; AeroVironment receives $7.29 million in capital inflows
In addition to Circle, ARK also made concentrated purchases of aviation and defense technology companies on the same day.
Among them, ARK purchased 59,171 shares of AeroVironment (AVAV), with a transaction amount of approximately $7.2928 million. The company mainly provides drones and related defense technology products, and it was the stock with the largest purchase amount by ARK on that day.
In the aviation sector, ARK purchased a total of 1,161,604 shares of Archer Aviation ( ACHR ) through two ETF entities, ARKQ and ARKX, with a transaction amount of approximately $4.5419 million. Archer is primarily engaged in the development of electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft ( eVTOL ), focusing its business on the future urban air transportation market.
In addition, ARK also purchased 63,612 shares of Kratos Defense & Security Solutions ( KTOS ), with a transaction amount of approximately 2.4605 million US dollars. The company's business involves unmanned systems and other defense technologies.
Overall, on that day, ARK reduced its holdings in semiconductor companies such as AMD and TSMC, while increasing its investment exposure to stablecoins, drones, and aerospace technology companies. However, these transactions reflect the fund's position adjustments for that day and cannot be directly interpreted as ARK being in the process of fully withdrawing from the semiconductor sector or changing the overall AI investment strategy.
