IT News on October 27th: Technology media Wccftech published a blog post today (October 27th) reporting that the controversy surrounding whether NVIDIA's flagship gaming graphics card GeForce RTX 5090 has been discontinued continues.
Earlier reports claimed that this graphics card had reached the end of its lifecycle ( EOL ), but NVIDIA later denied this, stating that the RTX 5090 “is by no means discontinued” and continues to be shipped. However, shipments are currently limited due to factors such as rising memory prices in the supply chain.

According to this media source, from the perspective of ordinary consumers, it has become difficult to purchase the RTX 5090 graphics card through regular channels, and it is already sold out in most retail outlets across multiple global markets.
German overclocking enthusiast Der8auer revealed that an unnamed NVIDIA graphics card partner stated that the company has not received any official notice of the discontinuation of the RTX 5090; however, at the same time, this manufacturer can no longer order GB202 chip sets equipped with 32GB of GDDR7 RAM.

More importantly, the other party is also uncertain whether they will be able to place orders again in the future. The manufacturer stated that even in cases of tight supply before, it was still possible to obtain materials by placing additional orders, but now even that channel has been closed.
The media analysis suggests that NVIDIA may prioritize allocating its limited GB202 production capacity to RTX PRO professional graphics cards, workstations, and AI business segments, thereby diluting the supply of consumer-grade gaming graphics cards.
Another radiator supplier revealed that the orders for RTX 5090 radiators from two AIB manufacturers had decreased in the first quarter of 2027, and in the second quarter of 2027, no orders were received at all.
For players, this means that the availability of RTX 5090 may become even more scarce, and prices and channel pressures are likely to continue to rise. As previously reported by IT, the channel quotes for the high-end models of the RTX 50 series change daily, with the flagship RTX 5090 rising from an official initial retail price of around 15,000 to 16,000 yuan to 55,000 to 60,000 yuan; the RTX 5080 has also seen its price increase from an initial selling price of around 8,000 yuan to 17,000 yuan.
