News from the IT community on October 22: WeChat developers officially released a notice regarding the adaptation of WeChat for Xcode 27 and iOS 27 today.

According to the official introduction from WeChat developers, Apple has adjusted the restrictions on the scheme query allowlist: when using Xcode for packaging and running it on iOS 27, the number of valid query items for LSApplicationQueriesSchemes is reduced from 50 to 25, with only the first 25 items being effective.
If the scheme required by WeChat OpenSDK is placed after item 25, the corresponding query will fail, which may lead to abnormal judgments of WeChat's installation status or related capabilities, and in turn affect functions such as logging in, sharing, payment, and launching mini-programs.

IT noticed that the WeChat Developers official also provided configuration suggestions:
It is not recommended to reduce the configurations required for WeChat OpenSDK in order to save spots. Please adjust the order so that the mandatory, recommended, and actually used capabilities are placed in the first 25 items. After completing the configuration adjustments, please conduct a regression test on the actual WeChat functions used in App on the 27 real machines of iOS.
Everyone can obtain the latest official internal version of WeChat by replying with the words "WeChat" in the WeChat account of IT.
For further reading: LSApplicationQueriesSchemes is a key-value pair within iOS applied in Info.plist. It is used to declare to the system that this application has the right to query other applications URL Scheme. Since the release of iOS in 2015, Apple has required applications to declare the corresponding Scheme within Info.plist. Otherwise, canOpenURL will always return false, even if the corresponding application is actually installed on the device. This is not the first time Apple has tightened this restriction. As early as iOS, Apple stipulated that for applications linked using iOS and later versions, LSApplicationQueriesSchemes could only configure up to 50 items; any excess configurations would not take effect. With this new update in iOS where the limit is further reduced from 50 to 25, applications that rely heavily on scheme for queries will face stricter quota constraints.
According to the integration document requirements of WeChat OpenSDK, developers need to configure two Scheme in their Info.plist. As early as September 2021, the WeChat team issued an adaptation note regarding 50 restrictions for iOS15, stating that if these two Scheme were placed after the 50th item, it might lead to incorrect results being returned by interfaces such as isWXAppInstalled and isWXAppSupportApi, or it might be impossible to launch WeChat through Universal Link.
It is worth noting that Apple's restriction only applies to scenarios such as "checking if an app is installed" (represented by canOpenURL). The method of launching an app (represented by openURL) is not subject to this restriction. In addition, if developers replace their custom method URL Scheme with Universal Link, they no longer need to use this method to verify the target link. Apple also indicates in their documentation that canOpenURL has been supported since version 3.0 and has been marked as deprecated since version 27.0.
As a background note, the official versions of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, and watchOS 27 were released at 1 a.m. on September 15, 2026, Beijing time. However, Xcode 27, which includes Swift 6.4 and iOS 27 among other platforms, requires the use of macOS Tahoe 26.6 or a later version of Mac.
