IT News on October 16th: According to Cailian News, at the Global Financial Management Forum 2026 Shanghai Suhewan Conference held today, Tim Cook, Executive Chairman of Apple Inc. and Chairman of the Advisory Board of Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management, pointed out that the application of artificial intelligence is experiencing explosive growth.

Cook stated that AI assisted programming has significantly lowered the barriers to coding, enabling people who have had little to no prior experience with code to write it themselves. At the same time, artificial intelligence has already had a profound impact on the supply chain in various aspects.

In the past, quality inspection processes relied heavily on manual labor. Today, machine learning has made inspections highly automated and more accurate. Taking iPhone color detection as an example, to ensure that millions of mass-produced devices have consistent colors, the related inspection and imaging tasks are all accomplished with the help of machine learning.

According to IT, this is Cook's first visit to China since he stepped down from CEO and took on the role of Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors, with Guangzhou being his first stop. Subsequently, Cook appeared at Tsinghua University to attend the annual meeting of the Advisory Committee of the School of Economics and Management.

Cook also exchanged views with Wang Wentao, Minister of Commerce, on topics such as Sino-US economic and trade relations, the development of artificial intelligence, and Apple's business in China. Cook stated that Apple is optimistic about China's development prospects, plans to further expand its business in China, and is willing to play a positive role in promoting the stable and healthy development of Sino-US economic and trade relations.
