IT News: On October 15th, local time, Google announced that it had pushed Android earthquake alerts more than 1 billion times in total.

Since its launch in 2021, the system has issued over 1 billion alerts in total, helping users to take precautions in advance of severe shaking. On the same day, Google also announced that it would expand the coverage of the system from 98 countries and regions to more than 200.
Google has also upgraded its latest "warning system" to provide users with more comprehensive information within seconds. In areas where the early warning service is enabled, Android users will receive one of three levels of alerts once an earthquake occurs:

- Note ( Be Aware ): Applicable to brief notifications indicating minor shaking, suggesting that an earthquake has just been detected in the vicinity.
- Prevention ( Be Ready ): Applicable to detailed notifications in cases of strong shaking, reminding users to prepare for risk avoidance.
- Take immediate action ( Take Action ): Suitable for full-screen alerts during moderate to severe shaking, providing direct guidance on emergency evacuation procedures.
IT has learned that in the coming months, the alert interface will gradually include a map showing the radius affected by seismic waves, an estimated earthquake magnitude, emergency measures that can be taken, and operation buttons to view detailed information in real-time as the latest disaster situation is updated.
