IGEL hires American zero-trust expert Randy Resnick to drive the Adaptive Secure Endpoint Platform strategy
This individual, who has held senior cybersecurity positions at the U.S. Department of Defense and NSA, brings nearly 40 years of technical and leadership experience. They will drive the development of IGEL Adaptive Secure Endpoint Platform ™ ( IASEP ™) in areas such as zero trust, network resilience, AI, and governance based on multiple frameworks and standards, targeting global public sectors and critical infrastructure industries.
Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA, October 15, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- IGEL ®, a global software company that provides Adaptive Secure Endpoint Platform ( IASEP ™, an adaptive security terminal platform), today announced that renowned zero-trust expert and architect Randy Resnick has joined IGEL as the Chief Technology Officer responsible for the public sector and critical infrastructure industries.
Resnick has accumulated nearly four decades of experience in technology, cybersecurity, and project leadership at the US Department of Defense ( DoD ) and the National Security Agency ( NSA ). As a senior advisor to the Department of Defense and the director of the Zero Trust Solutions Office, he has recently been responsible for leading the development, coordination, and implementation of zero trust models in one of the largest and most complex technical environments globally.
He is one of the authors of the initial Zero Trust strategy for the Department of Defense and co-developed pioneering Zero Trust reference architectures, maturity models, innovation labs, and independent assessment methods for the Department of Defense and national security systems. His work has helped transform Zero Trust from a theoretical concept into an executable national defense strategy. Prior to this, Resnick worked at NSA for over 34 years, holding various senior technical management positions, including Director of Zero Trust Model Strategy, Chief of Cybersecurity Innovation, Chief Engineer for Information Assurance, and the first head of the Red Team at NSA. For his achievements, he was awarded the Wash100 Award in 2024 and was recognized by CyberScoop as one of the Cybersecurity Visionaries of 2024.
IGEL CEO Klaus Oestermann stated: " Randy is globally recognized as a leader in the field of zero trust, and as a consultant for IGEL customers and partners, his particular value lies in his ability to advance transformative cybersecurity concepts from the strategic and architectural phases to project development and then to operational implementation. The combination of technical vision, leadership skills, and execution capability aligns perfectly with IGEL Adaptive Secure Endpoint Platform's next phase of market promotion."
From national security frameworks to critical commercial infrastructure
The decision of Resnick to shift from being in charge of the zero-trust strategy in the defense sector to working for a commercial software vendor further validates the market value of the IGEL platformization approach. IGEL is currently advancing IASEP ™ around the edge environments of enterprises, where IT intersects with OT, cloud, applications, containers, open-source technologies, AI, and users. This platform connects the control layer, data layer, and execution layer, enabling organizations to implement policies in diverse work environments, ensure trusted execution, and generate documentation for supervision and compliance.
Resnick will help to advance these capabilities, transforming the frameworks used in the field of national security directly into architectures that have been verified in harsh environments, to serve critical commercial infrastructure and the public sector, including financial services, healthcare, transportation, energy, and utilities. His work scope will also cover international markets, including NATO and the 'Five Eyes' countries, as well as Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and the Middle East region.
Resnick means: " IASEP ™ allows us to make more extensive and secure use of this experience in enterprise edge environments, integrating trust, resilience, as well as the governance principles of IT, OT, and new types of workloads into an architecture that can be easily implemented by organizations of any size."
IGEL, who serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for the public sector and critical infrastructure industries, added, "I have known Randy for many years. We first worked together at NSA, and later I saw him drive the strategic development and implementation of zero trust at the Department of Defense. I have great trust in his technical expertise and leadership skills, his discipline in project management, as well as his ability to transform groundbreaking concepts into large-scale practical capabilities."
Through ecosystem expansion architecture
The responsibilities of Resnick also include closely collaborating with customers, as well as the product, engineering, partner, and marketing teams of IGEL, to transform the needs of the public sector and critical infrastructure industries into repeatable platform capabilities. These efforts will also be integrated with the IGEL Ready ecosystem, connecting IASEP ™ with technical partner solutions in the areas of chips, identity management, networking, SASE / SSE, cloud, virtualization, and AI. This will lead to more advanced outcomes in terms of security and operations, ranging from identity management, segmentation, and compliance-to-connect mechanisms, to workload isolation, context-based policies, system monitoring, and ultimately to resilience and governance.
