Washington, October 14th / PRNewswire / -- Danaher Corporation ( NYSE : DHR ) announced on Tuesday a collaboration with NVIDIA to advance autonomous science and help accelerate the pace of scientific discovery. As part of Danaher's broader efforts to empower science through AI, the two companies are working together to combine Danaher's scientific instruments, automation technologies, laboratory workflow software, and domain expertise with NVIDIA's accelerated computing and AI technologies.
The goal of both parties is to help researchers move more quickly from prediction to experimental validation, forming a continuous learning cycle: experiments provide information for the models, and in turn, the models help design better experiments.
DanaH's President and CEO, Julie Sawyer Montgomery, stated: "DanaH is at the forefront of this transformation, which is reshaping the way science is conducted. We are working together around a common vision to drive more interconnected, adaptable, and accessible innovation, helping researchers overcome major challenges, and transforming discoveries into tangible benefits for humanity."
NVIDIA's Vice President of Medical Business, Kimberly Powell, stated: "The next era of scientific discovery will be driven by a continuous cycle between AI and experimentation. Together with Danaher, we will bring accelerated computing and physical AI into the laboratory – connecting models with instruments and real experimental data, allowing experiments to improve models, and models to design better experiments, helping researchers to compress what would otherwise take years of discovery into just a few months."
Danaher and NVIDIA are working to integrate AI into scientific instruments, including through edge computing with NVIDIA DGX Spark, leveraging RAPIDS for accelerated analysis and data processing, real-time inference, scientific reasoning, as well as basic model technologies, which include BioNeMo Open Models. The initial efforts will focus on a small selection of key instruments, with the potential to expand to a wider range of product portfolios in the future.
Both parties are also exploring how science AI and physics AI can support smarter instrument and laboratory workflows, such as the NVIDIA Cosmos world model and Omniverse digital twins, while ensuring that experimental evidence remains at the core of scientific decision-making.
This collaboration aims to advance Danaher's commitment to "connecting science" by integrating AI, accelerated computing, instruments, work processes, and experimental data, thereby generating experimental evidence. Danaher hopes to help researchers reduce the time and complexity between generating predictions from AI and taking action, while maintaining customers' choices regarding models, standards, and technology providers.
