On October 13th, according to a report from technology media Wccftech, developer RafaelNGP released PSBOX Cloud Gaming. This unofficial client can successfully run Microsoft Xbox Cloud Gaming on cracked PlayStation gaming consoles for the first time and supports streaming at up to 1080P@60FPS.
According to a blog post cited by IT, players can use the unofficial PSBOX Cloud Gaming client to browse a Xbox cloud game library on cracked PlayStation gaming consoles, and stream games at a resolution of 1080p60.
The software supports mapping up to 4 DualSense controllers to a single Xbox controller. Users can log in to their Xbox accounts in the usual manner on the PS5, and then use their mobile phones to complete the login process by entering a code displayed on the television.
PSBOX Cloud Gaming fully supports the DualSense controller and maps it to the Xbox controller. Users can also use the PS5 system keyboard to fill in text fields within the game. Additionally, users can call PS5 GPU and, through AMD FSR 1 or Anime4K, upgrade the screen resolution to 4K, thereby achieving higher-resolution output on the PS5 display device.
The installation process includes downloading the .zip file from GitHub, extracting it to a designated folder, waiting for the Homebrew loader to mount the application, and then launching and logging in. The software is still in its early stages, and some testers have reported video issues such as macro blocks and pink artifacts, as well as abnormal vibrations of the DualSense controller.
In addition to Xbox Cloud Gaming, RafaelNGP also added support for Xbox Remote Play after user requests. This feature allows users to stream games from their existing Xbox hosts to PS5, although this capability was not available in the initial version. Developers released an update a few days later to add this functionality.
