On October 8th, in an interview for the first episode of the new podcast "_Decoded_" regarding the issuance of Polit tokens, Sam Altman (_Sam Altman), the CEO of _OpenAI, stated that the world should accept some of the "negative aspects" brought about by artificial intelligence in exchange for the tremendous benefits and user autonomy that technology offers.

When asked about the differences in approaches to artificial intelligence security between OpenAI and its competitor Anthropic, Altman stated:

I think there are many points that are debatable. One of the key differences between OpenAI and some strict AI security advocates is that we believe the world should accept some of the negative consequences brought about by technology in exchange for the AI benefits and user autonomy.

"We advocate for a more lenient regulatory stance ( lighter touch regulatory stance ), and as society explores system resilience ( resilience ), some undesirable things will happen."

Altman believes that everything has two sides, but in terms of the benefits of promoting AI, the advantages brought by AI far outweigh the disadvantages in terms of magnitude.

Tech media TechSpot claims that despite AI having caused issues such as widespread unemployment, data center pollution and noise, copyright infringement, online spam, a decline in critical thinking, and a surge in demand for electricity and water resources, Altman still insists that its benefits will far outweigh the drawbacks.

Gary Marcus, an honorary professor at New York University ( Gary Marcus ), criticized Altman for “saying things that shouldn’t be said out loud: Be patient, and only then can you make us rich and strong.”

Reports indicate that a large portion of the public is dissatisfied with Altman's reiteration that the benefits of AI far outweigh the drawbacks.
