The stablecoin feature based on Solana for cross-border transfers will be directly integrated into the Samsung wallet experience that Galaxy users are already familiar with.
New York, October 7, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- Today, it was announced that Samsung Wallet ( Samsung Wallet ) and Samsung Pay will support stablecoins based on Solana. Starting from the last week of October 2026, Samsung Wallet users in the United States will be able to use USDC for cross-border remittances.
This feature will be directly built into the Samsung Wallet, rather than as an additional function separate from the wallet. Users will be able to initiate transfers within the same interface they already use for bank cards, boarding passes, and identification documents, and convert between local currencies and stablecoins through the integrated fiat currency deposit and withdrawal channels. The infrastructure behind Solana will operate in the background, allowing users to complete transfers seamlessly within the Samsung Wallet experience they are already familiar with.
When this feature is launched, it will cover 82 million Galaxy devices in the United States, and it will subsequently be extended to more markets, but compliance with local regulatory requirements must be observed.
The Executive Vice President and Head of the Business Digital Wallet Team at Samsung Electronics Mobile Experience ( MX ), Woncheol Chai, stated: "The goal of Samsung Wallet is to make a practical experience simple and intuitive. Stablecoins have the potential to make global capital flows faster and easier. We hope that Galaxy users can take advantage of this without having to deal with the complexity of traditional crypto tools. Solana will help us bring this experience to a scale that only Samsung can achieve."
Solana Foundation President Lily Liu stated: "Over the past decade, stablecoins have proven that this technology is feasible. What they lack is a way to reach mainstream users. Samsung's decision to collaborate with Solana means that the digital dollar will enter everyday life through one of the most trusted technology brands in the world. This level of adoption is exactly what we aimed for when we created Solana; we are witnessing a moment where stablecoins are no longer just crypto products, but are beginning to become a means for people to transfer funds."
In the past year, stablecoin activities on Solana have seen a significant increase. The supply of stablecoins on Solana has grown by nearly 20% year-on-year, and in 2026 alone, the volume of stablecoin transactions processed on this network exceeded 5.25 trillion US dollars. Large enterprises such as PayPal and Western Union have already begun to utilize Solana for stablecoin-related activities. Samsung's integration has taken this momentum a step further, enabling the technology of Solana to be easily used on 82 million Galaxy devices in the United States.
