DXC Technology ( NYSE : DXC ) stated on Wednesday that the company has announced a series of investments and initiatives aimed at helping insurance companies modernize their key operations, improve productivity, and adopt artificial intelligence without altering the systems upon which their businesses rely.
These announcements were made at the DXC Connect Insurance Executive Forum held in London. DXC stated that these measures are based on their “protect, expand, transform” strategy and “intelligent artificial intelligence” approach, to help insurance companies apply AI under the premise of proper governance, manual supervision, and accountability mechanisms. DXC mentioned that these measures will provide a secure foundation for innovation for reinsurance companies, insurance companies, and brokers, covering workflow modernization, platform innovation, investment in the London market, and continuous improvements to key insurance systems.
DXC, President of Insurance Software and Business Process Services, stated: "Insurance companies are facing the pressure to modernize more rapidly, to seize new opportunities with AI, and to adapt to changing market demands without disrupting their management systems. By combining profound insurance expertise, secure platform services, interconnected workflows, and intelligent artificial intelligence, DXC is helping customers to modernize at their own pace, maximize the value of their existing investments, and build a stronger foundation for future growth."
Lay a more solid foundation for modernization and innovation
DXC continues to expand its Assure Platform capabilities, providing insurance companies with a secure, governed foundation for modernization and innovation. This platform is designed to support the DXC's Assure Architecture strategy by integrating platform services, insurance services, integration capabilities, and intelligent artificial intelligence (Smart AI), helping insurance companies enhance their resilience and strengthen operational control.
The platform also enables insurance companies to acquire new capabilities more quickly, including Assure Configuration Manager. According to DXC, this is a new feature that allows for more efficient configuration, assembly, and deployment of the various components of Assure Architecture. Through configuration-based and low-code deployment methods, DXC can reduce the complexity and workload required to introduce new capabilities, helping customers to respond more swiftly to changing business needs. As a result, insurance companies can more rapidly obtain interconnected services, automation, and AI innovations that match their business priorities and operational requirements.
Driving innovation through AI to improve insurance workflows
The modernization of critical operations in the insurance industry requires better access to information, increased process visibility, and the ability to make decisions more quickly and consistently throughout the entire insurance lifecycle – from customer interactions and policy management to underwriting, claims processing, and operations.
DXC is leveraging Assure Smart Apps to expand these capabilities, helping insurance companies automate tasks and improve the information flow and decision-making throughout the organization. Smart Apps is designed to integrate with existing systems, allowing insurance companies to first address specific business priorities and demonstrate quantifiable value before gradually expanding to areas such as underwriting, claims processing, brokerage, distribution, and operations.
Since the launch of Smart Apps a year ago, DXC has added 18 new Smart Apps customers, providing services to over 450 insurance companies, and has expanded the adoption of the Assure platform to more than 275 customers. With large-scale application, these capabilities have facilitated over 750,000 automated transactions, deployed over 70 agents, and digitally extracted more than 2 million pages of documents. In addition, Assure Smart Apps is also being deployed in the Life & Wealth BPS businesses of DXC. This business manages 11 million policies, processes over $11 billion in payments annually, and corresponds to 300,000 claims per year.
DXC indicates that these capabilities are provided within a secure and regulated framework, built upon interconnected data, operational controls, and professional experience in the insurance industry; this enables insurance companies to innovate with confidence while maintaining the resilience and accountability required for critical operations.
Supports the modernization of key workflows in the London market
DXC provides technology that supports key services in the London market, and also collaborates directly with brokers and insurance companies through its broader insurance software and services division. DXC indicates that it plans to combine the capabilities of Assure Platform with the professional skills developed through London Market Core Platform ( LMCP ), thereby enhancing scale, security, and operational capabilities.
This includes supporting the modernization of key workflows to optimize the flow of tasks and information throughout the market, helping to enhance connectivity, visibility, stronger operational control, and better access to information, without affecting the continuity and reliability that the market relies on.
DXC is deploying Assure Architecture and Workflow Assistant to support the modernization of certain workflows in the London market, improve the routing, monitoring, and management of tasks across the market, while maintaining the resilience, continuity, and operational certainty that market participants rely on.
