The company is investing its own funds in stablecoins and tokenized gold vaults, and as institutional finance continues to move onto blockchain, this strategy is also being advanced.

The crypto trading company GSR is committing to investing $100 million, mainly through a credit arrangement, to support the new business Hare in collaboration with the liquidity platform Turtle. Hare will create and manage an on-chain treasury.
Hare will initially provide a vault supported by Aave, allowing investors to earn profits on major US dollar-stabilized coins and tokenized gold products of Paxos, while GSR will provide anchored liquidity.
This joint venture project reflects the growing demand from institutions for such vaults, which can deploy digital assets and tokenized assets into lending markets and other revenue strategies.
Encrypted trading and market-making firm GSR is investing $100 million in a new on-chain lending business, betting that vaults will become an even more important way for institutional investors to allocate digital assets and tokenized assets.
This business, named Hare, is jointly created by GSR and the liquidity distribution platform Turtle. It will create and manage an on-chain treasury. Most of the multi-year commitments from GSR will be provided in the form of credit arrangements, and its capital will first be used as the anchoring liquidity for Hare products before external investors arrive.
At the time of this move, vaults are becoming a key component of on-chain finance. Investors deposit assets into smart contracts, while managers or curators are responsible for deciding how to deploy these funds into lending markets and other strategies. In fact, this can turn assets that would otherwise be kept in wallets into collateral or sources of income.
Hare CEO Connor Milner stated in a declaration to CoinDesk: "The commitment of GSR is to deploy capital. From day one, the issuer will have access to liquidity, and the configurators will see their own capital placed in the same vault together with the issuer's capital."
Hare will start with two products supported by the lending protocol Aave. Hare USD Earn will accept major US dollar stablecoins and place them in a single vault, while Hare Gold Earn will allow holders of Paxos's tokenized gold products PAXG and PAXGy to earn profits. Paxos Labs is currently participating in gold product collaborations.
This model has attracted more institutional companies to join. The crypto lending institution Two Prime recently launched a Bitcoin lending vault based on Pareto, and received $10 million in support. Meanwhile, Galaxy Digital introduced Galaxy Curator, which is a vault platform based on Morpho, providing on-chain yield strategies for 2,400 institutional clients of Fireblocks.
Hare indicates that the company will focus on the credit aspect of this mechanism, assessing collateral, counterparties, and how positions may perform under market stress.

Milner previously served as a senior director at Re7 Capital, a hedge fund headquartered in London and owned by DeFi.
