This SoC adopts a space-grade coverless packaging independently developed by AMD, combined with conservative design rules and enhanced organic substrate materials, and is paired with space-grade chip capacitors. AMD indicates that this combination can reduce the impact of thermal and mechanical stresses in the space environment on the chips, making it suitable for aerospace missions that require extremely high reliability.
AMD is currently undergoing testing on Versal AI Core XQRVC1902 according to the highest level of quality and reliability standards in aerospace components – the US military standard MIL-PRF-38535 Level Y certification.
