Dallas, October 1, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- Highland Global Allocation Fund (NYSE : HGLB) (hereinafter referred to as the "Fund") today announced that it will distribute a monthly dividend of $0.085 per share on the dates listed below. In accordance with the Fund's fixed distribution policy, the annual distribution rate has been reset to 8.5% of the average value of the net asset value per share ("NAV") disclosed on the last five trading days of the calendar year 2025. The Fund announces a monthly dividend of $0.085 for October to December 2026.
The following are the dates applicable to this announcement of allocation:
Regarding the fixed allocation policy
In March 2019, the fund's board of directors ("Board of Directors") approved a fixed distribution policy. Under this policy, the fund makes monthly distributions to shareholders at a constant and fixed rate, which is not guaranteed. This rate is reset annually to the rate calculated based on the average NAV per share of the fund as disclosed on the last five trading days of the month prior to the announcement ("Distribution Amount"). The distribution amount applicable for the third quarter of 2026 has been reset according to the calculation results of the distribution rate. The distribution amounts applicable for future periods may also be reset based on the calculation results of the distribution rate.
It cannot be guaranteed that a fixed allocation policy will achieve its objectives. The fund's ability to maintain a stable distribution level to shareholders will depend on various factors, including changes in financial markets, market interest rates, and the performance of the overall stock and fixed-income markets. As the investment portfolio and market conditions change, the fund's ability to continue distributing according to the fixed allocation policy may be affected.
Shareholders may choose to reinvest their distributions through the fund's dividend reinvestment plan, converting them into additional common shares; they may also contact AST, their financial advisor, or their brokerage firm to opt for cash receipt. Shareholders who wish to receive their distributions in cash must exit the fund's dividend reinvestment plan. For more information, shareholders are requested to carefully read the description of the dividend reinvestment plan in the prospectus.
The board of directors may modify the fixed distribution policy, distribution amount, or distribution interval at any time without prior notice to shareholders, or may cease all distributions. The announcement, modification, or subsequent termination of such a fixed distribution policy may have an adverse effect on the market price of the fund's common shares.
Sometimes, a fund may decide on its own to pay out an amount in a particular period that is less than the total net investment income earned during that period; it may also distribute previously accumulated but unallocated earnings in other periods in order to maintain a stable level of distributions. Therefore, the dividends paid by a fund to shareholders in any given period may be higher or lower than the net investment income earned by the fund during that period. The fund plans to distribute all realized long-term capital gains (if any) at most once every 12 months.
If the monthly available investment returns are insufficient to maintain the distribution amount, the fund's distribution may include capital repayments. Capital repayments refer to the return of part or all of the funds that shareholders have invested in the fund to the shareholders. Capital repayments do not necessarily reflect the fund's investment performance and should not be confused with "yield" or "income." Any such capital repayments will reduce the fund's total assets and may therefore increase the fund's expense ratio. In addition, a fixed distribution policy may require the fund to sell portfolio securities at less favorable times in order to meet the distribution amount.
Shareholders should not draw any conclusions regarding the investment performance of the fund based solely on the distribution amount or a fixed distribution policy. For each distribution that is not entirely composed of net investment income, the fund will notify shareholders and provide detailed information regarding the distribution amount, its composition, and other relevant details. The distribution amounts and sources reported in the shareholder notifications are merely estimates and are not to be used for tax purposes. The actual distribution amounts and sources for tax filings will depend on the fund's investment performance throughout the fiscal year and may vary due to tax regulations. The fund will send each shareholder a 1099- DIV form for each calendar year, explaining how to report these distributions for federal income tax purposes. Please consult with a tax advisor regarding your specific circumstances to understand the potential tax implications.
