Wiesbaden, Germany, September 30th / PRNewswire / -- Panasonic The new TOUGHBOOK G3 brings significant upgrades to the rugged tablets. Panasonic indicates that the new battery pack design offers longer battery life and more options. Additionally, its lightweight, flexible, and modular design is aimed at mobile field users in industries such as national defense, emergency services, utilities, surveying, manufacturing, logistics, and automotive.

Battery life breaks through the norm

According to Panasonic, the new battery technology adopted by G3 increases the battery life by 39% [1]. Users can choose from three different batteries, which provide 8.5 hours, 17 hours, and 24 hours of usage time per charge respectively [2]. G3 is equipped with a 99Wh battery – the largest capacity battery in the TOUGHBOOK series – designed to meet the needs of longest shifts, especially suitable for AI drive applications that consume a lot of power during operation.

G3 also features a "hot-swappable" battery capability, and it is optional to equip it with a new "bridging" battery, allowing for seamless switching without the need to shut down the device when replacing the battery.

New Generation Mobility

G3 features a lightweight and compact reinforced mobile design with various forms. Its 10.1-inch display screen and portable design make it easy to carry and convenient to use in vehicles and tight spaces. It can be adapted to a variety of application scenarios – it can be used as a traditional tablet, installed in emergency service vehicles, or utilized in forklifts in warehouses to streamline supply chains and logistics processes.

Outstanding AI performance

As an advanced TOUGHBOOK AI PC, the G3 is equipped with the latest Intel ® Core ™ Ultra Series platform and features dual-channel memory [3]. This signifies that it provides mobile teams with speed, responsiveness, and a foundation tailored for AI, enabling them to run high-demand work processes on Windows 11 Pro. With the Copilot + functionality, the G3 can collect, store, and analyze critical task data at the edge without the need for constant reliance on cloud connectivity.

Powerful connectivity capabilities

G3 supports Wi-Fi 7, and can also be equipped with 4G or 5G standalone networking capabilities. Standalone networking and private 5G networks are suitable for on-site workers who need immediate connectivity in remote areas. In the field of national defense, such connectivity is crucial for low-latency, high-speed communications.

Panasonic Reliability and Security

The design goal of G3 is to meet the IP66 [4] dust and water resistance standards, and it has passed the MIL-STD 810H[5] vibration test. It can withstand a drop of 180 centimeters, and its operating temperature range is from -29°C to 63°C.

As Windows 11 Secured-core PC, G3 protects users, devices, and data through identity-first authentication. Like all TOUGHBOOK devices, users can use TOUGHBOOK Guard [6] to configure G3 device groups. This embedded, firmware-based security feature continuously compares and verifies the device's hardware configuration with the approved baseline to ensure that only authorized components remain active before the operating system is loaded.

[1] Compared with G2mk3. The test is based on the MobileMark ® 30 benchmark.

[2] Testing basis: MobileMark ® 30 benchmark.

[3] Only applicable to 32GB and 64GB models.

[4] Has currently passed the IP65 standard certification. The results for IP66 are expected to be announced in the fourth quarter of 2026. G2mk3 has also passed the IP65 standard certification.

[5] Will be tested in 2026 by an independent third-party laboratory in accordance with clauses 13, 4, 13.6.2, 14.2.5, and 14.3 of MIL-STD-810H and IEC60529. This performance test does not guarantee that no damage or failures will occur.

[6] Available only during pre-production configuration.
