This new ETF provides a systematic approach to utilizing momentum factors for rotation between international countries and regions.
Glastonbury, Connecticut, September 29, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- Leading investment management firm Symmetry Partners (referred to as “Symmetry”) today launched Symmetry Panoramic International Country Momentum ETF (code: ICMO). This product is designed to systematically provide investors with exposure to international countries and regions that have strong relative momentum performance.
ICMO Based on a dynamic, rule-driven strategy, it utilizes cross-sectional momentum to invest in the international countries and regions with relatively strong performance within the scope of MSCI ACWI (excluding the United States; MSCI ACWI ex-US), in order to seek long-term capital appreciation.
According to data from Morningstar Direct as of August 25, 2026, based on the MSCI index, the top 13 countries that have performed the best over the past 15 years (as of August 2026) have had an average annual return rate of nearly 27%. The company stated that its strategy of focusing on identifying the countries with positive momentum has the potential to enhance returns.
Symmetry indicates that this new ETF combines momentum signals with a disciplined rebalancing approach, supported by solid research, in order to capture the evolving trends of the international market. The strategy allocates 75% of the portfolio to the countries with the strongest performance, selected based on 6-month and 12-month momentum signals; the remaining 25% is allocated to one of three international regions: developed international markets, emerging markets, or the overall international market, also determined by momentum signals.
The company stated that, given the strong performance of international and emerging markets in recent years, ICMO can provide financial advisors and investors with an attractive international diversification option that is expected to enhance returns. ICMO can replace traditional international core portfolios or serve as a supplement to them; it can also replace active management strategies or be used to strengthen factor-weighted investment portfolios.
Symmetry Partners CEO David Connelly stated: " ICMO reflects our ongoing commitment to providing innovative, rule-based solutions. We believe that this ETF offers a unique way to seize changes in the international market leadership and is also an excellent complement to the Symmetry Panoramic Sector Momentum ETF (code: SMOM) launched in September 2025."
Symmetry Partners is known for its evidence-based investment methods and a series of solutions that help financial advisors serve their clients better. The launch of ICMO further expands the company's investment product line and also reflects the growing market demand for factor-driven, dynamic investment options.
