IT News on September 29th: According to Bloomberg, Toyota Motor Corporation's sales volume declined again last month, for the seventh consecutive month, mainly due to its ongoing cold reception in the Chinese market. In the Chinese market, traditional automakers are facing increasingly fierce competitive pressure from the rapid rise of local electric vehicle manufacturers.

Japanese automaker announced data on Tuesday, showing that due to weak demand for fuel-powered and hybrid vehicles, sales of Toyota and Lexus brands in this world's largest automotive market plummeted by 23% year-on-year in August. As a result, the group's global deliveries also declined by 7.5% year-on-year.
IT has noted that Honda's global sales also declined by 9.2% in August, with a 50% plunge in sales in the Chinese market being the main contributing factor. Nissan's vehicle deliveries in China plummeted by 52%, ultimately resulting in a 17.5% decline in its global sales.
Toyota and Lexus have performed relatively well in other regions. Thanks to the strong demand for new models, especially hybrid vehicles, their sales increased by 2.6% in Europe and by 9.1% in Japan; however, sales in the United States declined by 4.4%, and in the Middle East, sales plummeted by more than a third.
Earlier this year, Toyota stated that the sales of hybrid vehicles were expected to exceed 5 million units for the first time in 2026. Various non-pure fuel-powered assemblies have become a strong bargaining chip for this Japanese automaker in the US market, while high import tariffs have almost kept Chinese brands such as BYD out of the US market.
