Tesla stated that "more details" will be announced later on. October 15th is also a Thursday, which is exactly two weeks later than the original scheduled date.

The weather forecast predicts that it will clear up soon.

To be fair, Tesla's claims are not completely unfounded. According to the prediction data updated on Monday afternoon from Open-Meteo for McGregor, the probability of precipitation on October 1st was 82%, accompanied by thunderstorms, gusts of about 30 miles per hour, and rainfall exceeding 4 inches.

But this weather won't last too long. On Friday, there is still an 81% chance of rainfall, but the amount of rain will be less than half an inch, with gusts dropping to about 21 miles per hour. By Saturday, the chance of rainfall drops to 53%, and gusts will be around 13 miles per hour. Starting from Sunday, the weather forecast turns mostly dry, with no measurable rainfall from October 5th to October 7th.

In other words, this storm will pass within two or three days, yet Tesla has scheduled the event for two weeks from now.

Now, the date has changed to October 15th. The mass production schedule still points to "2027 or 2028."

We don't think it's just due to weather reasons.

If the storm on Thursday was really the only issue, Tesla could have postponed the event by a day or two. By the weekend, the weather would have cleared up. Of course, reorganizing an event with invited guests would require some coordination, and after 4 inches of rainfall, it might also take some time for the venue to dry out. However, for a storm that will pass by Saturday, a two-week buffer period is still too long.

If Tesla encountered problems during the demonstration itself, we wouldn't be surprised. This car is supposed to hover on SpaceX propellers and be remotely operated in front of the audience. Musk himself has reportedly told employees that this would be "very difficult to achieve and could go wrong." A timely storm just happened to buy some time.
