According to KIT, on July 27, 2026, the organization detected suspicious activities on its network. With the assistance of cybersecurity experts, KIT promptly took measures to ensure the security of the network environment and initiated an investigation to determine the nature and scope of these activities. The investigation revealed that between July 16 and July 27, 2026, unauthorized individuals gained access to the network and may have accessed or downloaded certain files. Subsequently, KIT conducted a thorough review to identify the information contained in these files, the individuals involved, and the appropriate contact information for those who might have been affected.
According to the review by KIT, the following personally protected health information may be involved in this incident: names, social security numbers, driver's licenses or state identification numbers, financial account numbers, dates of birth, medical information, and health insurance information. KIT will begin notifying individuals who may be affected starting from September 25, 2026.
KIT has established a free call center to answer questions regarding this incident and address related concerns. The service hours for the call center representatives are from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM Central Time, Monday through Friday, except on U.S. holidays. The contact number is (844) 301-0179.
