On the occasion of its eighth anniversary, Bitget revealed that it is expanding its business focus from single cryptocurrency trading to cross-asset trading. The company stated that UEX ( Universal Exchange ) will become the core direction for the next phase, with the goal of connecting cryptocurrencies, traditional market products, and AI trading tools on the same platform.

New additions of stocks and tokenized products

The company disclosed that over the past year, the platform has launched stock perpetual contracts, US stock options, and Hong Kong stock Quanto contracts. According to them, non-cryptocurrency assets once accounted for 40% of the platform's total trading volume, and the daily trading volume of traditional financial perpetual contracts and spread contracts has also exceeded $10 billion.

Bitget is still advancing the rToken product. This product uses tokenization tools to track the performance of traditional market assets. The company stated that five weeks after the rToken went live, the managed asset size had exceeded 100 million US dollars, with a cumulative number of transactions exceeding 3 million.

According to Bitget, currently about a quarter of new users start trading from rToken. This means that among the new traffic to the platform, a portion is not coming from traditional crypto spot or contract products.

Growth in Institutional Clients and Market Makers

AI is also part of the current expansion of Bitget. Recently, the platform launched AI Playbook, which is an autonomous trading agent tool that provides users with AI auxiliary trading strategies.

The company also stated that institutional business will account for a larger proportion in the ninth fiscal year. Disclosure shows that by the end of the second quarter of 2026, the net assets of institutional clients had increased by 45% compared to the end of 2025; during the same period, the number of core active market makers grew from 90 to 248.

  • Institutional clients' net assets are expected to grow by 45% by the end of 2025.
  • The number of core active market makers has increased from 90 to 248.
  • The platform will continue to invest in API, execution systems, and quantitative tools.

Reserve certification coverage expanded to 24 types

As the variety of tradable assets increases, Bitget is also strengthening its investments in infrastructure, security, and compliance. The company stated that as part of its anniversary plan, the platform's reserve of verifiable assets will be expanded from 4 to 24 different types of tradable assets.

Bitget also disclosed that in August 2026, the average valuation of its protection fund was approximately $382 million. The company stated that as the number and variety of platform assets continue to increase, security, market integrity, and compliance remain key priorities.

Next, Bitget plans to continue building infrastructure, cross-asset account functionality, institutional services, and quantitative trading tools. According to their statement, the platform aims to bring the crypto market and traditional markets under the same trading interface, rather than maintaining them as separate trading environments.

Additional information:Bitget also mentioned that the eighth anniversary event will include the KCGI 2026 tournament, with a prize pool of 3 million USDT, and will be accompanied by VIP and community activities.
