Jito officially launched the BAM pre-confirmation service on September 9th. This feature is aimed at traders and applications that require faster data, providing low-latency information on submitted transactions. For Solana verifiers, this means an additional new source of income without the need for additional hardware investment.
Within a few days of going live, it covered over 34% of the pledged assets.
After its launch, this system expanded rapidly. According to reports, just a few days after the service of BAM was launched on the mainnet, it had already covered over 34% of the total staking on Solana. The cooperation between Jito and infrastructure service providers Helius and Triton facilitated the early adoption rate.
The method of participation is also quite straightforward. Verifiers running the AgaveBAM or FireBAM clients can join after completing the update. Jito also indicates that verifiers who do not wish to participate can currently exit through Discord; in the future, a self-service option for switching on and off will be provided.
Traders gain a speed advantage of 5 to 10 milliseconds.

Jito The core selling point of this service is to allow traders to obtain submitted transaction data more promptly. Early tests have shown that under the p50 metric, integrators can gain a latency advantage of about 5 to 10 milliseconds.
This type of time difference is more sensitive to arbitrage, market-making, and clearing strategies. Market makers can adjust their quotes more quickly, arbitrage traders can respond to price deviations sooner, and clearing robots can execute trigger actions more precisely. Although this will not change the underlying block-generation process of Solana, it will affect who can utilize on-chain information earlier.
Revenue distribution is directed towards verifiers and Jito DAO.
In terms of profit distribution, Jito adopts a three-party split model:
- 30% is allocated to distribution partners such as Helius and Triton.
- 35% is allocated to the verifiers participating in BAM.
- 35% enters the Jito DAO vault
The report mentions that the actual payment of revenues to verifiers is not expected to begin until October 2026. In other words, although the current coverage rate has risen rapidly, it will still take some time before cash inflows start to appear in their accounts.
From a cost structure perspective, this is also an important reason for the rapid expansion of this feature. Verifiers do not need to add new hardware; they only need to upgrade their software clients to participate, and the marginal cost is nearly zero. For verifiers holding larger staking shares, as the coverage continues to expand, the contribution of this income in terms of absolute amount will also become more significant.
BAM Architecture attempts to compress harmful MEV space
The pre-confirmation service is built upon the existing architecture of BAM. Reports indicate that BAM utilizes a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) to handle transaction sorting-related tasks, and separates the sorting process from the execution phase conducted by verifiers.
The approach of Jito is to retain the ability to monetize the value of network positions while minimizing the space for harmful MEV extraction as much as possible. The pre-confirmation service continues in this direction: verifiers no longer rely primarily on transaction sorting to profit, but instead convert the ability to deliver submitted transaction data more quickly into revenue.
