NVIDIA announces a partnership with d-Matrix, a推理 chip company, whereby the latter will integrate the next generation of Raptor XPU into the NVIDIA AI platform. However, this news did not lead to an increase in the company's stock price. Affected by the overall decline on NASDAQ, NVIDIA's stock price fell by 2.35% on Thursday.
d-Matrix Integrates with NVIDIA Platform
According to the cooperation arrangement, d-Matrix will use NVIDIA's NVLink Fusion to connect the new generation of Raptor XPU and NVIDIA AI platforms. This means that the custom chips from d-Matrix have the opportunity to be deployed in large-scale AI data center systems.
Raptor will adopt NVLink as the internal expansion connection scheme for the cabinet, while Spectrum-X will be used for cross-system connections. It will also integrate with NVIDIA's MGX rack design. For d-Matrix, this combination helps to shorten the path to access the mainstream AI infrastructure.
The benefits of cooperation failed to offset market pressure.
Although the cooperation news signaled industry collaboration, market transactions were more driven by macroeconomic sentiment. On that day, NASDAQ as a whole weakened, and NVIDIA also fell in tandem.
The article points out that the pressure on tech stocks is related to rising oil prices. At the same time, the ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran have also exacerbated market risk aversion, diminishing the boosting effect of any news regarding cooperation.
Short-term divergence between stock price and fundamentals
From a messaging perspective, this collaboration strengthens NVIDIA's platform position in the interconnection of data centers and system architecture in AI, and also provides a clearer implementation pathway for d-Matrix.
However, from the market performance, the progress of a single collaboration is not sufficient to offset the broader market correction of that day. For investors, the short-term trend of NVIDIA's stock price is still influenced by the overall risk appetite of tech stocks and changes in geopolitical situations.
