According to CoinMeta, after the Australian government's plan to sell idle defense assets sparked public criticism, it decided to retain several historic military facilities, including the Sydney Victoria Barracks. As stated in a government statement on Sunday, the Sydney Victoria Barracks and other facilities will be excluded from the plan to sell more than 60 military sites across the country. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said, "The Sydney Victoria Barracks hold a special place in our country's history, and we will continue to maintain them as public assets." The sale plan is expected to generate 3 billion Australian dollars (about $2.1 billion) in revenue, which will be used to support Australia's efforts to enhance its defense capabilities.
