According to CoinMeta, Nubank and Mercado Pago suspended cryptocurrency transfers on November 6 due to issues with external technical providers, exposing the dependence of digital asset services on third-party infrastructure. Nubank subsequently resumed deposit and withdrawal services at 10 p.m. on Friday, while Mercado Pago has not yet confirmed a full recovery of services. Nubank stated that the suspension was not due to issues with their own infrastructure, and customer assets and information remain protected. Mercado Pago also temporarily prevented some transfers due to problems with service providers that monitor transaction risks. Neither company has publicly identified the affected service providers. This incident highlights the risk that disruptions from external crypto service providers can result in customers being unable to access transaction, storage, or transfer functions.
