Bitcoin mining difficulty reaches the longest historical period without breaking through the peak
2026-11-07 20:24:20
According to CoinMeta, as reported by bitcoin and news, since Bitcoin mining difficulty reached a historical high of 155.97 TH/s on October 29, 2025, it has failed to break this record for 374 consecutive days, surpassing the previous record of 364 days after the 2011 Mentougou collapse and the 253-day period following China's mining ban in 2021. Although the network's computing power recently rebounded to 1 zh TH/s, with difficulty rising to 148.36 TH/s (only about 4.9% short of the peak), mempool and space predict that the next adjustment in about 6 days will lower the difficulty by about 3.7%, once again delaying the achievement of a new high. Analysts point out that the main reasons for this continuous pressure include the weak trend in Bitcoin prices (around $76,000), rising operating costs, significant reductions in holdings by leading listed companies such as Riot and Hut, as well as miners shifting to AI for high-performance computing power hosting.
