San Francisco Fed Chair: Further interest rate hikes expected to combat inflation

According to CoinMeta, Mary Daly, the president of the San Francisco Federal Reserve, stated that further interest rate hikes are expected to be implemented in order to combat inflation. She pointed out that although tech stocks have been re-priced due to concerns about demand for artificial intelligence, the Federal Reserve still needs to tighten policies further to reduce inflation. Daly emphasized that inflation must be the top priority and noted that high inflation has persisted for too long and is more stubborn than anticipated. She considered the interest rate hike in September to be a correct move and said that keeping interest rates unchanged at the previous meeting was also a wise decision. Daly also mentioned that while the employment report is good news, wage growth has not been strong, and real wages are actually declining. Regarding the sell-off in artificial intelligence-related stocks, she stated that the transactions related to the re-pricing of AI assets have so far been orderly, and she is not worried about a significant decline in growth.
