According to CoinMeta, a responsible official from the relevant department of the People's Bank of China stated that a major virtual currency issuance platform Solana placed advertisements in Lujiazui, Shanghai, which were subsequently urgently halted. The official pointed out that the currency issued by Solana is essentially a virtual currency and belongs to the same category as virtual currencies such as USDT, constituting illegal financial activities that violate the "Notice on Further Preventing and Handling Risks Related to Virtual Currencies." The People's Bank of China will continue to work with relevant departments to crack down on domestic virtual currency-related business activities in order to maintain economic and financial order.
