According to CoinMeta, the coalition led by Saudi Arabia that is fighting against the Houthi rebels in Yemen stated on Friday that they had intercepted and destroyed a drone in the region where Mecca, the holiest city of Islam, is located. Previously, the Houthi rebels in Yemen had launched multiple attacks on targets within Saudi territory. Since the ceasefire agreement broke down in July, Saudi Arabia and the Houthi rebels have been continuously attacking each other, with such attacks resulting in at least 20 deaths in October. The Houthi rebels have repeatedly denied attacking the two holy cities of Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia, stating that they would not target these cities. On Thursday, the coalition led by Saudi Arabia announced that they had intercepted a missile launched by the Houthi rebels towards the Medina region.
