According to CoinMeta, Taiwan's weighted index closed down sharply by 4.51% on Friday, at 39,701.64 points, rebounding significantly from its intraday lows and holding onto the annual line support. The market believes that with the pressure of forced liquidations of margin trades largely relieved, and with the local government stepping in to stabilize market confidence and indicating that further measures to stabilize the market may be introduced, the stock market has been able to rebound. Previously, affected by a new wave of selling in chip stocks, Asian stock markets generally declined on Friday, with Taiwan's stock market falling to a level not seen in over six months. As of the close, among the components of Taiwan's weighted index, 112 stocks rose and 1,049 stocks fell. Weighty stocks such as TSMC closed down 4.69%, UMC fell 7.86%, Delta Electronics fell 6.63%, Hon Hai Precision Industry fell 4.46%, and MediaTek fell 2.02%.
