According to CoinMeta, at a press conference on November 6, the National Energy Administration stated that during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, China's electricity demand is expected to increase by about 600 billion kilowatt-hours annually, which is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of three additional Shanghai cities. Ge Ju, deputy director of the Development Planning Department of the National Energy Administration, pointed out that with the development of emerging industries such as computing power, China's electricity demand will continue to grow steadily. To ensure power supply, a warning mechanism for sufficient power supply has been established, with a goal of achieving a power supply surplus of more than 1.1 by 2030, to ensure there is still a 10% reserve capacity during peak electricity consumption periods.
