According to CoinMeta, the U.S. stock market experienced widespread selling, with the Nasdaq Composite Index and the Nasdaq 100 Index falling by approximately 4% and 4.52%, respectively. The S&P 500 Index declined by 2.7%, breaking below its 100-day moving average and September lows. Both the Nasdaq and Nasdaq 100 Indexes also fell below their 200-day moving averages, and any short-term rebound will need to regain these key technical levels. The entire industry chain saw declines; storage stocks such as SanDisk and SK Hynix fell by more than 10%. Chip stocks like AMD Qualcomm and others also fell by over 10%. Data center connectivity and optical communication stocks, including Lumentum, as well as semiconductor equipment stocks such as Lamina Group and Applied Materials, also lost more than 10%. Cloud computing and power supply companies, represented by Nebius, CoreWeave, and BloomEnergy, also experienced declines of over 10%. The breadth of the market deterioration was significant, with the number of declining stocks on NASDAQ nearly four times that of rising stocks, and on the New York Stock Exchange, it was about 2.5 times. The S&P 500 Index saw a similar ratio, indicating that the selling pressure had spread across a broader range of markets.
