According to CoinMeta, Gate has officially launched a new set of financial security certifications ( Proof , of , Security , POSEC ), becoming the first exchange to adopt this security certification system. This system extends security verification beyond just the adequacy of reserves to also cover storage structures and the ability to manage extreme risks. As disclosed on the official Gate page as of 08:00 on November 4th ( UTC +8) snapshot, the platform's cold storage coverage rate reached 104.58%, with cold storage accounting for 88.26% of the total assets and hot wallets accounting for 11.74%. This means that even if all assets in the hot wallets were lost, the cold storage assets would still be sufficient to fully cover all user assets under these criteria. Currently, this data is being verified by an independent third-party auditing firm and will be published on the official website. Previously, Gate was the first to introduce an open-source reserve certification ( POR ) scheme in 2020. This time, POSEC aims to provide the industry with higher standards of storage security transparency.
