AI Investment Gradually Transforms into Efficiency Improvement, U.S. Corporate Productivity Growth Accelerates

According to CoinMeta, labor productivity in the United States accelerated in the third quarter, recording the fastest growth rate in a year, reflecting companies' efforts to improve efficiency in order to alleviate the pressures of rising costs. Data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that non-farm business output per hour increased by 3.6% on an annual basis, higher than the revised 2.1% in the previous quarter. Unit labor costs fell by 0.7%, marking the first decline since the second quarter of 2025. The improvement in productivity helps companies limit the extent of price increases for consumers and other businesses. The latest data indicates that the current wave of capital expenditure is gradually translating into improved efficiency, with companies investing heavily in artificial intelligence, software, and equipment. It is expected that these investments will enable companies to achieve higher output while keeping labor input unchanged. In addition, a report by the U.S. government shows that the number of people filing for unemployment benefits for the first time last week dropped to a level comparable to the lowest since 1969, highlighting the stability of the labor market.
